A new debate has started in the state regarding caste census in the coordination meeting of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) held in Kerala. The statement of the Sangh is being seen as a ‘balm’ to heal the ‘wound’ of BJP’s defeat in the Lok Sabha elections.
The way the RSS has taken a stand on this issue for the first time, it is clear that the RSS and BJP do not want to take any risk in future. It is believed that the BJP, which was shocked by the loss of its vote bank in the Lok Sabha elections, will now play on the front foot on this issue after this statement of the RSS.
BJP, which had avoided this issue till now, is now busy in ‘damage control’. Actually, the Sangh Parivar plays a big role in fulfilling every political agenda of the BJP, but in this Lok Sabha election, the overconfident BJP organization did not give much importance to the Sangh Parivar. Hence, the BJP had to bear the brunt of this.
The way BJP has suffered losses in the 2024 elections has increased the pressure on BJP. The election results have shaken not only BJP but also the Sangh. The concern of the Sangh and BJP is that the way Dalits and backward classes showed the power of their votes in the Lok Sabha elections is a big threat to the BJP.
